1) Prepare Your Voice Mail Script:

 

Before you call a client or prospect, assume that you will get their voice mail. Prepare a voice mail message ahead of time, you'll sound confident and prepared.

 

 

 

2) Defend Your Price/Position:

 

Point out the positive benefits of your product, and the differences between yourself, your company, your product and your competition.

 

 

 

3) Stress Benefits Rather Than Features:

 

Instead of telling the customer about your great carrot seeds, tell them about the great carrots!   Emphasize how these benefits address the needs of your customers.

 

 

 

4) Network New Prospects:

 

Make a habit of asking your customers to recommend others who could benefit from the same product or service that they are benefiting from now (yours).   Offer to do the same in-kind.

 

 

 

5) Smile!

 

Whether you are on the phone or talking to the customer directly, remember to smile - it's one of the most important sales devices you can use.  Attentive, customer-centered service yields loyalty, frequency and referrals.
